This three-day history field trip explores Jamestown, Yorktown, and Williamsburg. Immerse your students in their history! These interactive sites will bring course content to life and engage students and adults alike.
History Field Trip: Day 1
Enjoy a hot, full breakfast at your hotel.
Spend the morning exploring history at Jamestown Festival Park.
Experience America’s first permanent English colony through galleries, historical interpreters, and film. Jamestown was founded in 1607, 13 years before the Pilgrims landed in Massachusetts. Outside, board the three ships that sailed from England to Virginia. Explore recreations of a Powhatan village and a colonists’ fort.
Dine at the Jamestown Cafe for lunch.
This afternoon, visit Yorktown, the battlefield where allied American and French forces won a deciding battle of the American Revolution in 1781. Explore the recreated Continental Army encampment and a recreated 1780s farm. Historical interpreters will provide insight into life for both the soldier and the common American. The Yorktown Victory center is an impressive museum which chronicles the entire Revolutionary period.
Dinner is included at a sit-down restaurant.
Enjoy an evening full of music, comedy, and entertainment at The Music Theater of Williamsburg.
After the show, return to your hotel for the evening.
History Field Trip: Day 2
After a hearty breakfast, take a guided tour of Colonial Williamsburg. Explore the government buildings, shops, homes, gardens, and taverns of Williamsburg and become a part of a city on the cusp of war. Many building, like the Courthouse, Magazine, and Wetherburn’s Tavern, are still standing from the 18th century. Others have been reconstructed on their original foundations, such as the Capitol and Governor’s Palace. There is a lot to see and experience!
Then, have lunch in historic Merchant’s Square.

After lunch, stroll the streets of Colonial Williamsburg and take in the sites.
Later, visit the campus of William & Mary College.
Enjoy dinner on campus.
It’s time for spooky stories and tall tales! Go on a Ghost Tour of Williamsburg.
Return to your hotel for the evening.
History Field Trip: Day 3
A great breakfast at your hotel will be waiting for you when you wake up.
Return to William & Mary College to take a group photo outside the Wren Building.
Then, spend the rest of the day at Busch Gardens! Enjoy unlimited rides & shows.
