- Snowshoe, WV: Snowshoe is the largest winter resort in the mid-Atlantic and is home to 251 acres of skiable terrain, 1500 vertical feet, 60 trails. Snowshoe has three ski areas, the Snowshoe Basin, Western Territory and Silver Creek. The Western Territory has two black diamond trails that drop 1,500 vertical feet, have a 60 percent pitch, and are 1.5 miles in length. - Killington, VT: Killington Resort stretches across six mountains and features 141 diverse trails served by 22 lifts. Killington averages 250 inches of natural snow each winter. - Whiteface Mountain, NY: Whiteface Mountain was the skiing venue of the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. The mountain is home to the greatest vertical drop east of the Rockies, 86 trails stretching over 22 miles and encompassing three peaks.
