This weekend members of the Scholastica Travel staff as well as many of our independently contracted tour leaders will meet in Washington D.C. for our annual FAM trip!
What is a FAM trip?
A FAM Trip, or familiarization trip, is a trip designed to improve knowledge of a destination. Hosted semi-annually by Scholastica Travel, FAM trips serve as a means of ongoing professional development for tour leaders.

What will we do?
In addition to covering the facts, stories, and legends that we most often share with our student groups, we spend extra time at each location discussing logistical details that help to enrich the group’s experience. We also discuss the many steps that are taken to ensure the safety of each group, ways to best engage students, and how to infuse fun at all points of the trip. Additionally, the seasoned tour leaders share their favorite stories about the trips that have been most rewarding, challenging, and fun throughout their years of experience. It’s a very fun and informative time for all involved!
We are really looking forward to the trip this year! Posts and pictures to follow, as well as play-by-play updates on Twitter/Facebook! Follow us (click on the icons in the sidebar) to get in on the action!
