Our recent trip to St. Louis with Scholastica was an outstanding experience from start to finish! The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, offering the perfect balance of organized tours and activities while still giving us free time to explore the city on our own. It made for a relaxing yet engaging trip where we were able to experience so much.

Our tour guide, Lisa, was absolutely fantastic. She was knowledgeable, personable, engaging, and enthusiastic throughout the entire trip. She was always happy to answer our questions and made everyone in our group feel welcome.

I was part of a group that recently took a trip to St. Louis. Lisa was our tour guide and Angela was our bus driver. Everything went so smoothly.
We had a great balance of time with the group and time to explore on our own. Additionally, we were able to enjoy many different opportunities to experience the art and culture of St. Louis.
Our bus driver was terrific- she worked hard always making sure we got where we needed to be without any issues.

I spent 5 days with Lisa on a St Louis trip that was fantastic. Despite the soaring heat wave, she was kind, funny, and available to answer any and all questions as well as giving out facts and trivia about the city and each of the venues we visited. I cannot pick a favorite, but a few highlights include the Arch and Riverboat Cruise, Cathedral Basilica of St Louis, Samuel Cupples House, Fabulous Fox Theater, Campbell House, “Shrek-The Musical at the Muny, and the St Louis Art Museum. We stayed at the wonderful Drury Inn at Union Station. Her planning and attention to detail assured a smooth and interesting experience everywhere we went!

Our arts immersion Trip to St. Louis was so well organized. Our tour guide, Lisa, was the best! She kept things rolling on schedule and provided lots of extra information to help us have a fantastic experience.

Lisa was AMAZING while traveling with the KEDC Renaissance grant. She does so much research to make sure that the immersion trips are not just educational, but also fun! She also makes sure to find places and events that can be shared with our students in the classroom that correspond with our content areas. As a music teacher, I know there are a ton of places in the US with music history, but with Lisa’s help, she’s able to find the lesser known hidden gems that most people (even myself) may overlook by accident. I can’t wait to share what I learned with my students this coming school year!

I attended the KEDC Renaissance summer immersion trip to St. Louis, Missouri. The trip was wonderful! We had a great balance of things to do vs. relaxation/recovery time. The Fabulous Fox Theatre tour was my favorite part, as I teach theatre. There are multiple things I will be able to take back home to my students! Overall, great experience!

I recently traveled with Scholastica to Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown the week before America’s 250th birthday. It was a great experience seeing where history was made. We were based in Williamsburg and were able to take our time and really see what was there because we had tickets for Williamsburg for the whole week and could go back to sites we missed the first time. I hummed Hamilton in my head the whole trip.

We attended a teachers group trip this summer and it was an amazing trip. They took us to Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown. We were given so much information and history to go along with these places. The guided tours and recommendations made this trip so informative and educational. I would not take another trip to a historical sight without a tour because in fear of missing out on couch that the site has to offer. I would highly recommend this company to anyone because it made my trip amazing and unforgettable.

My experience traveling to Colonial Williamsburg through the KEDC Grants program and Scholastica Travel was truly unforgettable. Every detail of the trip was thoughtfully organized, allowing participants to fully immerse themselves in the rich history and educational opportunities that Colonial Williamsburg provides.

Throughout the experience, I gained a deeper understanding of early American life, government, economics, and the daily experiences of people living during the colonial period. Walking the historic streets, interacting with interpreters, and exploring authentic sites brought history to life in a way that textbooks simply cannot.

As a kindergarten teacher, I was especially inspired by the many connections I can make between this experience and my classroom. While my students are young learners, the concepts of community, citizenship, traditions, jobs, storytelling, and daily life can all be introduced through engaging lessons inspired by Colonial Williamsburg. I gathered ideas for dramatic play, hands-on learning experiences, storytelling activities, and cross-curricular connections that will help my students develop a deeper appreciation for history and the people who came before us.

I am incredibly grateful to KEDC Grants and Scholastica Travel for providing this opportunity. The experience not only expanded my own knowledge but also equipped me with meaningful resources and inspiration that I can bring back to my kindergarten classroom for years to come. The impact of this trip will extend far beyond my own learning and will benefit countless students as they begin their educational journey.

My trip to Colonial Williamsburg through KEDC Grants and Scholastica Travel was an incredible learning experience. The opportunity to explore history firsthand gave me a deeper understanding of colonial life and early America. We had a great trip with our 6th grade group. Tammy was so helpful and answered questions promptly throughout the planning process. Our original tour guide could not attend at the last minute, so we got Gen and Eileen. They were both great and very knowledgeable! They kept us on time and worked well with our young group!

I had the absolute pleasure of being the coach driver for a group that Gen was the tour guide for in Washington DC from May 18th through the 21st. Gen is an amazing guide. She had impeccable communication skills and was always one step ahead. It made my job navigating the busy streets of DC 100% easier. If you have a choice on tour guides, ask for Gen! Coach drivers don’t always get to enjoy the places we drive to. Because of how easy Gen was to work with and how amazing she was at handling the group and coordinating with me, this was a trip I thoroughly enjoyed.

We just returned from our middle DC trip. Everyone had a great time. Our bus driver was really great and our tour guide kept us on track and was very helpful. We had a jammed packed 3 days with lasting memories. The only thing I would change is the group dinner at Hard Rock. It ate up too much valuable touring time.

I got to chaperone my little brother’s 8th grade trip through Scholastica Travel, and it was a great experience. My own class trip was canceled because of Covid, so it was really nice getting the chance to experience Washington, DC. Everything was organized well, and we got to see so many interesting places while learning a lot throughout the trip. Our tour guides, Phylis and Lori, were amazing keeping everything running smoothly and made the trip enjoyable for everyone. Overall, it was a really fun trip and such a cool experience to be part of.

I just spent four jam-packed and memorable days in Washington, D.C. with Phyllis, Lori, and our 8th grade students. Phyllis and Lori quickly became part of our school family and truly made the experience exceptional. Their knowledge and professionalism were outstanding. They always had answers to our questions, and if they didn’t, they made sure to find them for us.

They kept our group organized, ensured we arrived at every destination on time, and provided clear meeting points and directions throughout the trip. Their planning and leadership helped make this an unforgettable experience for both students and chaperones.

I’m already looking forward to the opportunity to attend this annual 8th grade trip again in the future.

We had a wonderful experience with Scholastica Travel. Our travel guide, MaryAnn and our bus driver, Brian were both wonderful! They did their best to make sure we could see as much of Washington DC as possible on our middle school field trip. We will definitely use this travel company again in the future.

This was a fun trip with so much packed into so few days; we saw and did so much. It is an 8th-grade class trip, and we had Gen as our tour guide. She is amazing I highly recommend going with her as a tour guide she's very sweet and very knowledgeable about pretty much everything. There wasn't a question she couldn't give at least a simple answer to, and most she answered in depth.
Andrew our bus driver is an amazing driver. It's been a super smooth ride the whole trip (For a bus at least). He’s also super polite.

Our guide Gen did an excellent job she was very verbal and knowledgeable about the area spoke a lot with the kids asking question and pointing out landmarks along the way. She was very patient and attentive to the children treated everyone with the highest respect and was just a great person for all us. thank you for your services....

As a chaperone to a recent Washington DC trip led by Scholastica, I'm impressed. Our tour guide, Mary Anne, who'd likely been doing this for years was knowledgable, patient and knew how to keep an event with 8th graders of different interests and energy levels going. You know you have a real pro when they have thought of upcoming potential travel issues that could affect the enjoyment of the group. It was also obvious Mary Ann enjoys what she does and has the energy to put in the miles of walking a true tour demands. Well done, Mary Anne and Scholastica!

Our 8th grade trip to Washington, DC was an amazing experience from start to finish! The itinerary was packed with fun stops, meaningful historical sites, and plenty of activity to keep the students engaged. There was definitely a lot of walking, but it was worth it to experience so many incredible monuments and landmarks firsthand. The Mt. Vernon visit definitely could use a little extra time as the tour of the house and food line took up most of our time there. Repurchased meals or a boxed lunch would be helpful for that visit. Visiting the memorials and monuments really helped bring the history of DC to life for the students. It was nice to visit a few during the evening to be able to experience the night view.

A huge shoutout to our tour guide, Audrey, who was absolutely excellent. She was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and passionate about the history behind every site we visited. Audrey was also very flexible and quick to pivot whenever plans needed adjusting, which kept the trip running smoothly. She always took the time to answer questions and made sure everyone felt included and informed. Her suggestions for activities and places to visit on our free day were also greatly appreciated and spot on.

Transportation throughout the trip was smooth and well organized. The bus was comfortable and I felt at ease with the driver we had behind the wheel. The hotel accommodations worked very well for our group, breakfasts offered a great variety of options each morning, and the meal cards for lunch and dinner were convenient and easy for the students to use. The planned rest stops also had plenty of food and snack options for the kids.

The group sit-down meals were generally good overall. The Fish Market was a bit hectic and struggled to accommodate a group our size, and the food service was quite slow for a bus full of hungry teenagers, but it still served its purpose. On the other hand, The Farmhouse Restaurant at The Resort in Gettysburg was an excellent choice before the drive home — the students really seemed to enjoy it and definitely left full and content.

Overall, this was a fantastic trip that created lasting memories for both students and chaperones. We truly appreciated all the planning and organization that went into making it such a successful experience!

Our trip was well-planned and tour guide Joan was knowledgeable and efficient. She made everything easy for us. My only regret was our Washington DC tour did not include any of the Smithsonian museums.

Scholastica worked with our school to plan the perfect tour. We were able to pack in all the attractions we wanted to see. Gen was an outstanding tour guide. She made sure we had time to learn about each monument while still giving us free time for pictures. She was knowledgeable about the sights and taught us how to be respectful at memorials. This was our second year with Gen and hope we have her again!!

We went with a big group of students. I’m glad everything is planned and easy to maneuver when disruption happens with our plans. We saw so many places in such a short time but it was all worth it!

A great experience for our 8th grade class trip. Our guide Kathy was wonderful. Knowledgeable and fun. Our bus driver Mama D was so fun. Crammed a lot of activities into a few days and it was perfect.

It was a wonderful trip with all the bus drivers and tour guides. Lyn was on the first bus and my bus was Leeann the ladies were great

Trip was well organized but too much was crammed into the time we had. So the tour guide was more focused on “keeping time” than keeping the group together. If a long walk is required the destination needs to worth the walk. A 20 minute walk (estimate) was not worth the opportunity to take a picture of the White House through a fence.

Our kids’ trip to DC was fantastic with Scholastica! Our Tour guides Jace and Lyn are awesome people with great knowledge. The facts they dropped were timely and worth listening to.

We are finishing up our tour with Jace to Washington, DC. We brought our 8th graders for the experience of a lifetime! Jace was friendly and amazing to work with. He connected with our students and made the trip so fun. He was knowledgeable about the area and taught the kids a ton! I would highly recommend Jace!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and loves his city. He shared a lot of good information and was entertaining. He engaged the group well. We had a couple hiccups, but nothing major with organization. Our bus driver was also engaging.

Our trip to Washington, DC with our guide Lyn and driver Rob was fantastic. They were incredibly friendly and professional, and Lyn brought the experience to life with her humor and wealth of knowledge. Lyn did an awesome job engaging our group of 8th graders while sharing fascinating insights along the way. Even though this wasn’t my first visit to DC, I left as a parent chaperone with a much deeper appreciation for the city and a lot more knowledge. I highly recommend this company and will absolutely consider them for future personal travel.

We have used them for a couple school trips to New York City. I have always been impressed with the itinerary put together and the cost effectiveness of the trips. While there are always things that happen outside of their control, I do think there are some things that could be better planned as far as routes and timing. When moving large groups of kids, efficiency is most important, and I think the plans could better maximize the limited time we have. Some things were better from the first trip I chaperoned, there were others that didn’t work out as well. Overall I still think they are a good company to work with.

Roby was an incredible guide on our school field trip. As a parent chaperoning, I felt like the group was always engaged, the information given was very intriguing and he made for a memorable and organized trip.

We just took a class trip with my son’s 8th grade class to Washington DC and I cannot praise Scholastica enough! Our drivers were all fantastic and our tour guide Jace was so knowledgeable and personable with all the adults and students alike! The entire trip was smooth and impeccably organized.
