Spring 2012 Photo Contest Announcement

We are thrilled to announce that we will be holding a photo contest for the spring 2012 tour season!

What is it?
The Scholastica Travel Spring 2012 Photo Contest is an online photo contest run through our Facebook page. Travelers may submit up to two photos taken on their trip with Scholastica Travel during the spring 2012 season.   The public votes for their favorite photo through the Facebook page application. The photo with the most votes wins the grand prize of a Kindle Fire! The photo with the second highest vote count (submitted by someone other than the grand prize winner) is awarded the second place prize of a Kindle Touch.

What are the prizes?
Grand prize: Kindle Fire
Second place prize: Kindle Touch
 
What are the dates of the contest?
Photo submission dates are March 7, 2012 – June 7, 2012.
Voting dates are June 8, 2012 – July 8, 2012.
Winner is announced on July 9, 2012.
 
How is the identity of the entrant protected?
Except for the entrant’s name, personal information required for photo submission is not displayed with the photo. Personal information is used for the purposes of contacting the student regarding the photo contest.  Photos cannot receive comments.
 
What is the step-by-step process of the photo contest?

1. Entrant travels with Scholastica Travel, has a fantastic time, and takes many pictures of their experience.
2. Entrant chooses one or two of their favorite photos.
3. If other students appear in the photo, entrant obtains permission to enter their picture into the photo contest.
4. Entrant “likes” the Scholastica Travel Facebook page.
5. Entrant locates the photo contest app in the sidebar of Scholastica Travel Facebook page.
6. Entrant clicks on app and clicks on enter contest.
7. Entrant fills out entry form.
8. Entrant selects up to two photos to submit.
9. Entrant enters titles and captions for photos.
10. Entrants are presented the privacy policy of  Scholastica Travel and the Official Rules.
11. Entrant submits entry.
12. Photo entries are emailed to Scholastica Travel for approval.
13. Once approved, photos go live on the Facebook page.
14. Photos can be submitted until 11:59PM on June 7, 2012.
15. Photos are viewed on the Facebook page for duration of contest.
16. On June 8^th 2012, entrants are sent an email reminding them of the photo voting period.
17. Entrants contact family and friends requesting that they vote for their photo.
18. Those with Facebook accounts are allowed to vote for one photo once a day.
19. On July 8^th 2012, the voting period closes.
20. On Monday July 9^th, the winners are emailed and announced on the Facebook page.
21. Winners are mailed their Kindle Fire and Kindle Touch!
