Has your high school marching band received the great honor of performing in the Tournament of Roses Parade this year? We have traveled with marching bands to the Tournament of Roses Parade before. Below is a sample 6-day itinerary for marching band trip to California.

The excitement begins! Board your plane to sunny California with the rest of your marching band friends. When you arrive, check into the hotel and take some time to settle in and refresh for the evening.  Then, enjoy a pizza party with your band in the hotel’s ballroom!

This morning the directors will meet together during breakfast to discuss plans for the week.  Students will enjoy a hearty breakfast in the hotel ballroom.

After breakfast, take shuttle provided by Pasadena City College to Universal Studios® Hollywood! The day is yours to enjoy the thrills of the park rides, attractions and shows.  Don’t miss the newest ride, Minion Mayhem opening Spring 2014!

Lunch will be at a location of your choice within the park.

In the afternoon, visit the Universal CityWalk® to pick up a few souvenirs of your California experience.

Everyone will meet again for dinner at Buca di Beppo Universal City.  Delicious entrees of pasta, salad, and chicken are served family style for everyone’s enjoyment. The evening is sure to be filled with fun stories and laughs from the day’s adventures!

After dinner, return to the hotel to rest up for another day of excitement.

Fuel up with a delicious breakfast in the hotel ballroom.

Board the motorcoach and depart for a local high school for a practice session. Use the morning to tune-up and practice your performance pieces.

Motorcoaches then depart for the Rose Bowl!

Capture the moment with a band photo.  Then, view the spectacular Rose Parade floats.

Lunch will be provided by the Tournament of Roses Parade at the Pasadena City College.

After lunch, it is time for BANDFEST!

Your group will report to your assigned area to begin warming up prior to stadium staging.

Once arranged on the field, it is time for your performance! Following, you will have pass in review prior to exiting the stadium.

After the performance excitement subsides (if that is possible!),  it is time to return to the hotel to freshen up for the evening. The motorcoaches will drive the Tournament of Roses Parade route on the way to the hotel.

Enjoy a light dinner at the hotel before departing for Buena Park, California.

Tonight we will see the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure pre-show and show!

Afterwards, there will be a special New Year’s toast and dance to ring in the New Year!

Shortly after midnight, the motorcoaches will depart for the hotel.

It’s touring day! After breakfast in the hotel ball room, meet your tour guides at the Los Angeles Farmers Market.

Spend the morning taking a highlights tour of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and Hollywood! Experience Rodeo Drive, the Walk of Fame, and Mann’s Chinese Theatre.

Lunch will be at a location of your choice.

Spend the afternoon at the Santa Monica Pier and Pacific Park! Soak up the great views of the ocean as you enjoy shopping, games, and rides.

Then, spend the evening in Old Town Pasadena. Cash will be provided to each student for dinner.

Return to the hotel for an ice cream social! What a sweet way to end a great day.

It’s the big day! All band members will eat an early breakfast at the hotel ballroom before having their uniforms inspected.

Motorcoaches will then depart for the parade area and pit arrival. The morning will be spent marching in the event you have prepared so long for,  the Tournament of Roses Parade! Soak up the sights and sounds!

Lunch is provided by the Tournament of Roses.

Return to the hotel to shower and refresh before departing for the Queen Mary’s Queens Salon and Deck.

Enjoy an evening of dancing and dinner!

Say goodbye to sunny California! It has been a great adventure but it is time to travel home. Cash will be provided for each student for breakfast at the airport.
