This weekend, two members of our office staff as well as lots of tour leaders and family/friends will converge on Washington, DC for our annual FAM trip. I am really looking forward to it because last year, lingering effects from a surgical procedure hampered my enjoyment of it.
This trip will be especially cool for me as my son, who has never been there, also gets to attend. It will be interesting to see things through his eyes. I just hope the government gets things squared away so that we’ll be able to see everything on our itinerary! How terrible it would be for someone new to DC to not be able to experience all those wonderful memorials and museums!
I’ve been to DC a couple of times, but there are many places that I have not yet seen. Arlington National Cemetery is probably at the top of my must-see list followed closely by the Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial. I also look forward to returning to The Newseum, Ford’s Theatre, The Museum of Crime and Punishment, and Madame Tussaud’s. And I hope we can squeeze some time in there to visit at least one of the Smithsonian Museums. There’s so much to see and do; you can’t do it all in a day and a half!
I will soon be writing all about our experiences, so stay tuned!
