My group just returned from a trip to Washington DC with Lisa, Clint, and Janet as our guides. Navigating our nation’s capital with 117 8th graders and 17 chaperones in 3 buses in the middle of a government shut-down sounds complicated to me, but Lisa and the crew handled all of the obstacles seamlessly. It was so nice to be able to focus on our students and not have to worry about logistical details. Lisa often pointed out that this is OUR trip, and she strived to make it the best it could be for us. We are very grateful and are already looking forward to next year’s trip.

Lisa was fantastic! She handled our students well and pivoted when necessary. She was truly a joy to be around.

We went to Washington D.C. Our Tour guide was excellent,very friendly, fun, and very knowledgeable of the area. Our bus driver was the best ever. He did a great job getting us to where we needed to go. He was very nice and helpful. We had a great time. Hope to go on another tour with the same tour guide and bus driver.

Our tour guide in Washington, D.C. was Kathy and she was phenomenal! I've been there 3 times before and never got to see or learn so much. So many little tidbits about each stop. Our wonderful driver was Kline. Together, they made this the best trip ever!

Tour guide, Kathy, and bus driver, Kline, were both fantastic. Kathy was able to adapt to the “shut down” by filling in other sites to go to. Her information she provided while traveling from site to site was also very helpful and interesting. Both were very friendly and accommodating!

We had a wonderful time on our scholastic tour of Washington DC and Mount Vernon. It could not have been more perfect. Our tour guide, Kathy, and our bus driver Kline, are the best. Very knowledgeable about the area and told us good stories about the places we visited. Every detail was thoughtfully planned from our airline flights, hotel, and accommodations because of the shutdown. We will gladly go through this company again!

We had a 4 day trip to Washington DC. Our Tour guide was Kathy and bus driver was Kline. They were PHENOMENAL!!! Kathy was so knowledgeable of the history of all the sites and Kline drove the streets like he owned them. It was a great trip and I highly recommend Scholastica Tours.

Our church’s bus trip to Washington DC was absolutely wonderful even with the government shutdown having some places closed. Our tour guide Kathy was outstanding and very knowledgeable of the whole area. She was also great at rearranging things to make sure we got to see everything in our allotted time. Our bus driver Kline was also awesome and provided us with a luxury ride in his exceptionally clean and well maintained bus. His driving skills on very busy streets were amazing! The staff at Scholastica was also very easy to work with in planning this trip and worked tirelessly to find new things for us to see and do at the last minute due to the shutdown. On the last day of our trip, we decided we’re going to schedule another trip for next year!

Our tour guide Kathy and bus driver Kline were fantastic! Our group Trinity from Kansas did the DC tour last week. It could not have been any better. Everything we saw was exceptional. Kathy was so knowledgeable. Kline really knew where to go and how to drive! It made the trip so enjoy. I highly recommend them both!

I just wrapped up the best trip to NYC with a group of educators through Scholastica Travel! I am not sure how they squeezed so much into three days! They took the stress out of touring a city with a well planned itinerary, taking care of the reservations, arranging transportation, and providing an amazing tour guide, Lisa!

Our group is a bunch of teachers from Kentucky, and traveling with Lisa and Soirvon from Queen City Bus (our charter driver both years) has been such a smooth and enjoyable experience. They make a great team! One of the best parts of traveling with Scholastica is that everything is planned out for you—transportation, meals, tickets—so all you have to do is show up and enjoy. I found the recent immersion trip for educators to St. Louis to be both enriching and engaging. Among the highlights were the tram ride to the summit of the Gateway Arch, visits to the Campbell House and the Old Courthouse, the stunning Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, and the delightful experience at Grant’s Farm. The itinerary was thoughtfully curated, offering a wealth of intriguing activities, along with a comprehensive list of suggestions for our leisure time.

Leaving St. Louis after a fun week! Definitely recommend taking groups to the Foundry, the Campbell House, Grant's Farm (don't forget the Clydesdale Horses), Forest Park (paddle boats!), the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, and of course we can't forget The Arch!! Art Museum would be great for art lovers. If you are taking kids and don't mind a little chaos, The City Museum is where it's at!! Side note: our bus driver, Monae, was AMAZING!!

Just finished a tour of St. Louis. We went to several wonderful museums and tours. The arch, Campbell House, Cathedral Basilica, and Clydesdales tours were some of my favorites. There were a few places I wish we had gone like the science museum. Our bus driver was amazing! I did feel like some of the times at places needed adjusting and the time to eat and options of food was not always factored in well. I also wish our tour guide was more knowledgeable of the area.

We had a great week with Kathy! She was so kind and helpful and very knowledgeable. As a group of teachers, she treated us well and had fun extra information for us! We appreciated how the tour had things for people who had never been and things for people who had been many times. Kathy was also flexible to change what we were doing when the heat became an issue.

Our trip to St. Louis consist of 30+ educators. On our bus the tour guide required adults to raise their hand before answering questions and displayed a rude attitude through out our trip. The Drury Plaza hotel and food was great, the arch visit was wonderful and the Grant Farm and Clydesdale Tour and Basilica. Some of the museums allotted for 2 hour stays and we were finished touring within 45 minutes. There was no flexibility to add other sites that we would like to visit before they closed at 5:00.
Our bus driver was amazing. The tour guide did not offer parking suggestions but our driver was adaptable and maintained professionalism and easily got this bus every where we needed to go.
Professional learning with our colleagues and many laughs and fun times were had in despite of the poor attitude guiding us.

St. Louis Group Trip Review

Our group of 30 adult educators recently traveled to St. Louis, and while the city itself was full of history, charm, and incredible hospitality, the experience was unfortunately overshadowed by a poorly structured itinerary and an underwhelming tour guide.

The sites we visited were truly worth seeing—The Gateway Arch was stunning, the Old Courthouse offered fascinating historical insight, the Cathedral Basilica took our breath away, and the Clydesdale farm was a definite highlight. The art museum and history museum were also good However, far too much time was allotted at each stop, leaving us standing around with little to do when we could have been exploring more of what the city had to offer. Several group members suggested itinerary adjustments to maximize our time, but those were dismissed. Our guide even stated that she was “the boss,” and maintained a rigid schedule that didn’t reflect the needs or interests of adult professionals.

Additionally, our tour guide Kelly did not appear knowledgeable about the places we visited or where to park, frequently telling our bus driver “good luck” or simply admitting she didn’t know the parking situation. Her lack of preparation and flexibility made what could have been a smooth trip feel disorganized and frustrating.

The one saving grace was our accommodations. The Drury at the Arch was fantastic—clean, comfortable, and centrally located. The included breakfast and evening “kickback” with food and drinks were not only delicious but also helped us save both time and money.

Overall, the people of St. Louis were incredibly welcoming and kind. It’s a shame that the same could not be said for our guide. With a revised itinerary and a more engaging, informed, and adaptable tour leader, this trip could have been outstanding. We hope future groups are given a more thoughtfully planned experience.

Finished a tour of St Louis. The city was nice but the tour could have used some improvements. There was a lot of downtimes including a trip to a petting zoo for grown adults and a stop at city museum that is intended for children not grown adults. The hotel was nice choice, the Basillica was very nice! There trip was ok but not on my list to return. The eating choices were very limited when on the last day we stopped at the foundry to eat which was the best choice of the trip.

I recently attended a group tour to St. Louis with a group of educators from Kentucky. Our tour guide Kelly was very unprofessional and took away from the enjoyment of the trip. The itinerary we followed featured poor time management. It gave entirely too much time to go to museums when there was not enough to see. Our tour guide had no idea of any of the places we went, she was unable to tell the bus driver where to park and had no knowledge of where things were located in the city. I had to Google what things were to decide other activities to do to fill time. The activities planned were not age appropriate for a group of adults. We missed out on things we could have done in St. Louis because our tour guide had to be in charge and didn’t like it when we would suggest changes to the itinerary. The tour guide was rude to our bus driver, often telling her “good luck” when asked about parking. The tour guide was also condescending to the group and just overall unprofessional.

I felt there was little preparation from the tour company or the tour guide for this trip to ensure that our time was well spent and we got to see as many things in St. Louis as possible. We missed out on several things the city has to offer because of the itinerary and the fact that when it was created the person doing so didn’t have knowledge of the area.

A great experience was had in St. Louis using Scholastica Travel! They made the trip fun and educational all together!

Our trip to New York with Girl Scout Troop 1458 was truly awesome! A special shoutout to our tour guide, Robert, who was incredibly knowledgeable and flexible, making the experience both fun and educational. We enjoyed 3 ½ days packed with sightseeing, learning, and meaningful life lessons.

Lisa W. is a great DC guide, she’s flexible and has all the answers. She had the forethought to keep up with the weather and adjust our schedule and tickets as needed to ensure we weren’t caught in the rain or extreme heat. I just returned from chaperoning a senior trip to Washington D.C. Our tour guide, Kathy, was very knowledgeable and experienced. She was flexible with our group and gave us options when the weather was rainy. Our bus driver, Kline, was also great, and our overnight security did a great job. I definitely recommend Scholastica. Our students and chaperones all had a wonderful time touring the city, and we hope to work with them again next year.

This was my 3rd overall bus trip. Overall, this was the most pleasant. Our tour guide, Lisa, was very flexible and made arrangements for us when it was going to rain and another day was supposed to be blistering HOT. She switched our schedule around so our group would be much comfortable. She was always willing to help and answer any kind of information.

Scholastica Travel is top-notch! I recently traveled with a group of English, Social Studies, and Special Education teachers from Eastern Kentucky. Our group was led by Lisa W. Lisa did an amazing job of guiding us through Washington, DC and highlighting areas of importance that can be taken back to our classroom. Our tour group was structured, yet offered flexibility during certain times, which I highly appreciated. Some of the places we toured included: the US Holocaust Museum, Arlington, the National Mall, the Capitol, Library of Congress, Ford’s Theater, the Frederick Douglass House, and the White House Experience. 10/10 trip!

I had the opportunity to work with Scholastica to plan a trip to DC for a group of 6th graders. The process was very organized and my contact, Tammy was helpful and patient with my many questions. As the trip approached, I received a package with pertinent information and group tags really helping to tie up loose ends. The execution of the trip was flawless. Between the guides, itinerary, meals, tickets and beyond- every detail was precisely as discussed.
In truth, anything that would be changed for the future is a matter of group preference, not reflective of Scholastica.

We just returned from our 8th grade Washington DC trip and had an amazing time, in fact the kids didn't want it to end because they said they felt like they became a family. Our tour guide Janet had us everywhere about 15 minutes before it seemed the crowds came so we got so much in! Plus we were there during the Cherry Blossoms which were beautiful!

Our trip was well planned out and organized. Our guide, Jessica, was always on her toes and able to make adjustments to our schedule if needed. She was very knowledgeable and enjoyed talking with the kids about the different monuments and memorials we visited.

We had an amazing trip and I highly recommend Scholastica! Lisa, our tour guide was very informative and flexible. They allowed us to add input and made adjustments to our itinerary that matched our needs. These Kansas kids are thankful for all the help and assistance Scholastica provided! We went on a second trip with Scholastica. This time we had Jessica as a tour guide. Only complaint is that some places we ate were very expensive and the $20 allowance didn’t cover it (I got a grilled chicken sandwich and fries at the Smithsonian and it was $27-one of the cheapest items on the menu).
